A BLOG WHERE CONVERGE MARKETING, SERVICE, SERVICING AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

Cuil.com are indexing more than 120 Billions pages and claim that it was time for a search engine to keep up with the growth of Internet contrarily to the most popular one who filter content by popularity instead of displaying results based on their content and relevance.
Cuil.com ensures that analysis of keywords is processed in depth from top to bottom without any discriminative result therefore we have more choice. Mr Tom Costello and Ms Anna Patterson, the founders, strongly believe that there is more to get out of from the Web than only from its users. Also one of cuil.com´s fundamental competitive advantage is based on the way the search result is organized that which give us the possibility to get answers from latent questions. So there is no more “ruim” for “tabui”. By the way, “Cuil” must be pronounced “COOL” and it means “knowledge” in Irish. Read more…

Have you heard of Bluetooth-operated proximity marketing system?
That system transmits free of charge messages to mobile phones whose Bluetooth device has been enabled within a 10 to 100 meter radius. This is called Bluetooth marketing. There is a multitude of branded systems available on the global market. Most of existing Bluetooth-enabled sytems are developed to run within the arena of proximity marketing for advertising and Communication campaigns.
In a commercial environment, users or consumers can receive information about products, promotional e-vouchers, news, opening hours, events etc…FOR FREE. Messages can be sent automatically within the a 24 hour round non-stop. The receiver of the message can forward it to another mobile user, in turn the marketing message (i.e an e-voucher) can be distributed virally beyond the marketing zone. Those proximity marketing devices are designed to work autonomously and can be deployed quickly and easily similarly to a plug-and-play peripheric.

Where can it be deployed?
.Trades fairs and conventions
.Discos and bars
.Hotels
.Shopping malls
.Pedestrian areas
.Cinemas
.Public Transports (I.e. embarked Bluetooth proximity Marketing device within a bus, an e-bus a metro)

One of the brands I believe have such potential is Zonablu. Read more…

Finally, we will have something else to talk about, probably something more important to talk about soon. Or Just nothing else to talk about.

This is truly preoccupying.

Android from Google is rising slowly accompanied with the hum in crescendo of a reputed Pink Floyd song in the background sounding like “We don’t need no education, we don’t need no thought control…”
Android from Google is like a revolution against status quo, the transition to a more democratic politic regime, the opening to a new frontier.

Android from Google is developped through The Open Handset Alliance (OHA), a true organisation of collective wisdom and intelligence for a better world.

“Open
Android was built from the ground-up to enable developers to create compelling mobile applications that take full advantage of all a handset has to offer. It is built to be truly open. For example, an application could call upon any of the phone’s core functionality such as making calls, sending text messages, or using the camera, allowing developers to create richer and more cohesive experiences for users. Android is built on the open Linux Kernel. Furthermore, it utilizes a custom virtual machine that has been designed to optimize memory and hardware resources in a mobile environment. Android will be open source; it can be liberally extended to incorporate new cutting edge technologies as they emerge. The platform will continue to evolve as the developer community works together to build innovative mobile applications.

All applications are created equal
Android does not differentiate between the phone’s core applications and third-party applications. They can all be built to have equal access to a phone’s capabilities providing users with a broad spectrum of applications and services. With devices built on the Android Platform, users will be able to fully tailor the phone to their interests. They can swap out the phone’s homescreen, the style of the dialer, or any of the applications. They can even instruct their phones to use their favorite photo viewing application to handle the viewing of all photos.

Breaking down application boundaries
Android breaks down the barriers to building new and innovative applications. For example, a developer can combine information from the web with data on an individual’s mobile phone — such as the user’s contacts, calendar, or geographic location — to provide a more relevant user experience. With Android, a developer could build an application that enables users to view the location of their friends and be alerted when they are in the vicinity giving them a chance to connect.

Fast & easy application development
Android provides access to a wide range of useful libraries and tools that can be used to build rich applications. For example, Android enables developers to obtain the location of the device, and allows devices to communicate with one another enabling rich peer-to-peer social applications. In addition, Android includes a full set of tools that have been built from the ground up alongside the platform providing developers with high productivity and deep insight into their applications.”

We consumers surf on the “want-it-right-here-right-now” wave on daily basis and we all are zappers – We could zap from choosing to eat at the closest Mac Donald between lunch and dinner and probably blind-date dine in the most prestigious Chinese River Palace in town at 22:00 and order an Indian take-away the next evening …since you may be distracted from ordering  it for breakfast.  Yes, we are unpredictable consumers but maybe our wants, needs, desires, hungers and moods are containable… and measurable.  Google Mobile will be playing a decisive role in our busy and on-the-move life.  So, until you get your list of randomly favourite restaurants here is a taste of what www.knowyourmobile.com  has concocted for us so far .

Every listing features the restaurant’s location, a short but honest review and one-click dialling (via 10p/min numbers) to make a reservation. Some listings also offer sample menus and wine lists and photos, and all let you submit your own reviews.

Films and TV -
www.filmsandtv.com/wml
In the absence of a mobile version of the omniscient IMDB, Films and TV does an admirable job as a searchable database of films, directors, actors and actresses. It doesn’t have the depth of the IMDB, but does have a synopsis and cast list for each film, and user ratings in case you’re in the cinema queue and torn between two movies. Oddly for a site called Films and TV, no TV shows are included in the database.

Hong Kong S.A.R, Monday, May 30, 2005 — (Business Wire India): The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announce today that as a result of the growing consumer demand for Bluetooth wireless technology, the technology met the significant milestone of five million Bluetooth units shipping per week. The five million milestone demonstrates the wide acceptance of Bluetooth technology in a multitude of applications.

“Five million units shipped validates the sizeable market for Bluetooth technology - every time you blink an eye, another ten Bluetooth chipsets see the world,” said Eric Schneider, marketing director, Asia Pacific & Japan, Bluetooth SIG. “When you couple that with the recently announced collaboration between the Bluetooth SIG and UWB, Bluetooth technology will further reinforce its leading position far into the future. Even today, we expect this will have a positive impact in Bluetooth uptake.”

“The five million per week mark proves that Bluetooth technology has strong marketplace traction. Microsoft is committed to ensuring that the platform support in Windows meets the needs of the marketplace” said Harish Naidu, general manager of the Windows Device Experience Group at Microsoft Corp. “Bluetooth technology enables millions of people to cut through the clutter of cables and experience new possibilities to connect. We look forward to continued cooperation with our industry partners on Bluetooth deployments so that our mutual customers can enjoy the benefits.”

“Nokia is pleased to see the impressive numbers of Bluetooth technology deployment,” says Jyrki Rosenberg, Director, Strategic Technology Marketing, Nokia. “For Nokia, Bluetooth technology is an important element in our optimized mix of radio technologies that enables seamless connectivity and a more wireless lifestyle for customers. Already today, Nokia has introduced state-of-the-art mobile devices that allow data transmission using both high-speed cellular networks, WLAN hot spot access, and Bluetooth technology.”

The SIG’s Asia Pacific contingent is made up of more than 1,000 vendor companies working to deploy Bluetooth technology across an ever-widening variety of applications such as mobile phones, hands-free kits for cars, PDAs, laptop computers, mp3 players, mice and keyboards.

More than 100 manufacturers in Taiwan expect to produce in excess of 46 million Bluetooth-enabled devices in 2005 – up 79% from 2004, while Hong Kong makers are forecast to manufacture 5.1 million, up 135% on last year, according to a report published this month by the Greater China-focused Global Sources media company. Survey findings also anticipate growth of 125% among the 160 mainland China vendors slated to make 3.3 million Bluetooth products this year.

“We see explosive growth for Bluetooth continuing”, says Shuichi Sakurai, Toshiba Group Manager of Bluetooth & Wireless Business Development. “As the US and APAC countries continue to see the expansion of current and new products for consumers. The recent announcement of collaboration with UWB can only add to Bluetooth’s industry setting standards.”

Bluetooth wireless technology has set its mark in every level of adoption. Since the first release of the Bluetooth Specification in 1998, over 3400 companies have become members in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). Meanwhile, the number of Bluetooth products on the market is multiplying rapidly. Volumes doubled from 2003 to 2004 to an installed base of over 250 million with a continued growth likely reaching 500 million units by the close of 2005. Paired with this is the notable increase in consumer awareness of Bluetooth wireless technology [See Millward Brown survey release http://www.bluetooth.com/news
About Bluetooth Wireless Technology

Bluetooth wireless technology is revolutionizing the personal connectivity market by providing freedom from wired connections. It is a globally available standard that wirelessly connects mobile phones, portable computers, cars, stereo headsets, MP3 players, and more. The technology is now available in its fourth version of the core specification and continues to develop, building on its inherent strengths — small-form factor radio, low power, low cost, built-in security, robustness, ease-of-use, and ad hoc networking abilities. Bluetooth wireless technology is the leading and only proven short-range wireless technology on the market today.

About the Bluetooth SIG
